Our favourite Christmas pose – Child’s Pose

It’s easy to be tempted by all the Christmas goodies and why not? It is Christmas after all!

But it can be a little stressful on the body and the mind. At Christmas we eat more than we normally would and we eat different foods at different times and this confuses our digestive system. We may feel bloated and lethargic. So why not try our favourite Christmas pose, Child’s Pose, it’s great for aiding digestion and relaxing.

How to practise your Child’s Pose
Kneel down and sit back on your heels with your big toes together. Separate your knees slightly and lay your body over your thighs. Lower your head to the floor and rest the arms beside you, with the palms up. Try to keep your bottom touching your heels. Relax, rest and enjoy!

After all the Christmas shopping and partying Child’s Pose also helps rest the legs. To top it all off your head is lowered and your eyes are closed, this helps quieten the mind and shuts you off from all the external Christmas chaos. We think this pose is a must for any yogi at Christmas!

It only takes a few minutes to do, so have a go first thing in the morning and last thing at night.
